My inspiration:

In my experience, death has often been closely followed by new life, bringing a distinct and aching bittersweetness to grief. I have found the two often arrive hand in hand, bound together in one of the great mysteries of existence. I also believe that those we have loved and lost find ways to visit us if we are paying attention. The diamond at the center of this piece becomes a window into that mystery, a portal through which we might feel their presence again.
