I created this skull ring after experiencing a significant loss in my life in an exploration of deep grief. Inspiration came from my time living in New Orleans where the culture surrounding death is more of a celebration of life. There, the deceased are sometimes honored with second line parades. I saw that death is often the only time we really celebrate a person’s life and that there is so much beauty in this. This skull ring with its diamond studded headpiece is in respect to that celebration of life and reminds us to remember our loved ones with joy.
